Sunil Jain - Sovereign Capital

London, January 2012

"Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity Buy & Build specialist, today announces the appointments of Sunil Jain as Investment Manager. This hire further strengthens the investment team.

Prior to joining Sovereign, Sunil was an Investment Manager at Blenheim Chalcot, the investment group, where he predominantly focused on education, technology and financial services. Previously Sunil spent five years at Oliver Wyman Financial Services, where he specialised in financial services strategy, working predominantly with insurance and private equity companies. Sunil holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Sunil will focus on executing Sovereign’s proven Buy & Build growth strategy which has seen 24 transactions completed over the past year. Recent investments include the bolt-ons of Springbank Community Care to domiciliary care provider City & County Healthcare Group and Drury PSM to risk management, compliance and certification service provider Alcumus Group. In November Sovereign was named ‘Investor of the Year’ at the 2011 Education Investor awards; this is the second year running that Sovereign has received the accolade."

Jim Strang - Hamilton Lane

London, November 2011

Hamilton Lane adds to London team

Hamilton Lane has hired Jim Strang as a principal in its London office.

Jim is joining Hamilton from UK mid-market Dunedin Capital Partners, where he was a director and head of fund investment. Prior to this Jim was head of European buyouts at Gartmore Private Equity and a consultant at Bain and Company.

Hamilton Lane is a private, independent firm providing private equity investment management to investors around the world. Based in Philadelphia, with offices in several US cities, London, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong, Hamilton Lane offers a full range of investment products and services that enable clients to participate in the private equity asset class on a global and customised basis.

David Conlon - Foresight

London, November 2011

David Conlon has been appointed as director of Foresight’s environmental team with a focus on secondary PFI projects. He joins the eight-strong team from Aleltho Energy where he was transaction director, responsible for originating, structuring and negotiating renewable energy deals. Previously, David financially directed a number of renewables and infrastructure investments in the PFI/PPP sectors as investment director at the Secondary Market Infrastructure Fund and has held project finance roles for both KPMG and Grant Thornton.

Patrick Hofmann - Afinum

Munich, October 2011

Afinum Management, the leading German mid market private equity fund, has appointed Patrick Hofmann to join their investment team based in Munich Patrick joins after previous roles with Vestar Capital Partners and Goldman Sachs.

David Andrews - LDC

Min Ong - Caledonia Investments

London, September 2011

We are delighted to announce that Caledonia Investments Plc has hired Min Ong as an Investment Executive. Min will play a crucial part in originating, screening and monitoring fund investments across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Prior to joining Caledonia, Min was at Nomura where she focused on investment banking in the financial services sector. Before this, Min was at PSA International, which is one of the world’s largest port operators. Min has an MBA from INSEAD and a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College.

Sumeet Pillai - Tata Capital

London, September 2011
We are delighted to announce that TATA Capital has hired Sumeet Pillai as Vice President from Lloyds Bank.

Sumeet will be based in London and reporting to Amit Mehta. His role will be to assist in cross border acquisitions between Europe and India as well as fund raising for Indian Corporates in the International markets.
